Gran Canaria - Outfit Diary

If you are a follower of mine over on Instagram you will know that I have recently returned from Gran Canaria and you would of already seen a vast array of outfit photos. I thought it would be nice to discuss them a little further and share them all in one place and link where they are from; this is a different sort of post for me but there are going to be several Gran Canaria posts that is fo'sure.

I am sure some of you may have noticed that when it comes to the fit of tops/dresses they are all halter neck style or not very 'revealing'? This is due to the fact that I have a scar and in all honesty I am very self conscious about it and never get it out, especially in the UK. When I was abroad I did on the odd occasion tuck my straps in on my bikini to banish tan lines but other than that they were covered.

Sidenote - You will never believe how difficult it is to buy clothes whether it be dresses, tops and especially swimming costumes that cover it.

A favourite of mine, as well as a last minute purchase was this t-shirt style dress from Missguided. As soon as I saw it I knew I would love it, it is just such a flattering length and because you can pull it in to how tight you want it to fit it just sits so nicely on your figure (it also enables you to eat all the food possible; you will see this is an ongoing thought throughout)

Another favourite has to be my long, leaf printed maxi dress! Firstly, I loved the cut of the dress and with it being longer at the back and almost having this draping, wrap around feel at the bottom I was apprehensive to see how it looked but I actually loved it; if there was a breeze it just swung so nicely and it made me feel so good, almost getting them Beyoncè in the wind machine feels. It did have an elasticated waist which meant it sat nice on your waist but it wasn't uncomfortable or restricting. I did think after that I bet it would look really nice with a thin tan or black belt round it; I wore tan shoes and bag but I bet black would nice with it too!

There was also a dress from ASOS that I absolutely loved. ASOS's own brand have some incredible bits and they are so reasonably priced too; a lot of my holiday wardrobe, especially my daywear, was from ASOS's own brand. One of my favourite pieces I picked up was this navy and white, halter neck swing dress, which was one of the most comfortable pieces I got to wear. It had a really low back too which added something a little different to the dress from the back but it also meant it enabled it to hang perfectly from the front too.

The next item was one that I definitely would of never imagined wearing a few months back but has become one of my favourite items in my wardrobe. Firstly, yellow was never a colour I imagined I could wear and a midi, tea skirt was definitely never on my radar; it is also an ASOS own brand item.  ASOS you are killing it. I paired the skirt with a cute little square neck cami (also ASOS own brand) and it is one of the best cami tops I have ever wore, to the point where I got it in multiple colours and they are long too which makes them better for pairing with items.

My next outfit was incorporating the white cami top again but with a mix match of items. This kimono is an old favourite, I have had it years from New Look but the length of it, along with the colour and pattern is something I absolutely love. I also took a liking to my friends shorts and loved the paper-bag waist on them so they got an outing too. As you may have noticed by tan wedges became my holy grail evening shoes; New Look kill the game for footwear.

The next outfit is also once again one I nabbed of my friend, I loved the colour and it was mega comfy too. I paired it with a pair of flat sandals for a more casual and comfortable look; you'll notice these with several outfits. The sandals in black are my friends but I also got them in rose gold because they are so comfy and practical.

The last outfit I am going to mention in this pose is a cute casual little one, incorporating a top that I have had for YEARS. The tropical print skirt is so cute and I also have the same style skirt in a pale baby blue, they had it in so many colours I had to stop myself buying them all. Yes they are an ASOS own brand as well!

There were more outfits I could write about but these were some of my favourites. It is such a shame that the weather in england has started to go back to the typical weather of being chilly and rain because now I can't wear these cute outfits.

I had such a fab holiday and cannot wait to tell you all more stories.

Much love

x
