Things I'm Thankful For

As you may have realised from previous posts I am quite an open book about all areas of my life and I am always trying to find ways to be more positive about any situations - so this post is right up my street! I was tagged by the lovely Alice from Black Tulip Beauty to state what things in my life I am thankful for. Alice is one of the bravest individuals I know and has recently opened up and discussed her own story with her physical health - she is such an inspiration - following in those footsteps is pressure

I'll admit I have not always been one to try and view things in a positive life - you will know that if you know me personally or have been an avid reader of my blog over the last year or so. Last year was one of the most difficult years for me, so being in a better place now this post is perfect to be able to recap on my journey and mention things that helped me through.

I am thankful for my family
Honestly my family have been the biggest support system ever without them I would not be in the place I am now - god knows where I would be. As I have mentioned last year was so difficult and my family where the people that helped me get through all of that, they kept me going and made sure I didn't give up on things that I was heavily thinking about quitting, like University. On the days when I didn't want to get out of bed my mum would come and offer me a cup of tea and bring the dog up to give me kisses or come and lie next to me and just talk to me - I mentioned some of this in my last post. I'm not just talking about the last year but there are so many other things my family have helped me through and they have always supported me in any direction I have decided to take with my life from the endless dance practices, trips to Blackpool, driving me all over the place, shows and all sorts.

I am thankful for my friends
My friends have been there for me through times when I did not want to know or see anyone - no matter how far away we have lived or how long we go without seeing each other. There are several different friends I am exceptionally thankful for and have made endless memories with and I just want to give a shoutout to some that I could not imagine my life without. Zoe and Niamh, my favourite University girls who have kept me going through the past 3 years with all the laughter, tears, private jokes and memories that I cannot forget. Laura, my homegirl for as long as I can remember. We met through dancing and no matter where our journeys have took us we are still stuck with each other especially now our families are joined at the hip too! Victoria, my absolute favourite girl ever. You came into my life later than most people but you have had the most significant impact on my life and I could not be any prouder of you. Christina, I rarely get to see you now but I have known you since I was 10 months old meaning we have literally grown up together. Your family is like my own and we basically used to live at each others houses with living next door but University took us both in different directions but that doesn't matter because when we see each other it is like we were never apart. Last but not least, the girls that I haven't yet met in person but have impacted my life in such a way, the Blogger Babes. We started as a Facebook group and now the group chat is a never ending conversation with laughter and love 24/7.

I am thankful for my pug
To some people this may seem a stupid thing to include in a list like this but my pug has made such a difference to my life. Kiko came into my life at a time when I was at rockbottom and helped to lift me up and give me a purpose. I mean who doesn't like puppy kisses in the morning and coming home to a little creature all excited to see you.

I am thankful for University.
My University journey has been one of the most intense and stressful journeys of my life, it also assisted in keeping my mental health around for far too long. It has also been an experience that has taught me a lot about myself and my strength, I am so much stronger than I ever imagined.

I am thankful for dance
Dancing has been a massive part of my life since I was around the age of 3. I have had so many incredible opportunities from dancing at Blackpool Tower and Winter Gardens to endless competitions around the UK, from appearing in music videos to Britain's Got Talent. I have had so many amazing memories and created friendships that will last a lifetime.

This post could be so much longer than what I have made it but I think the ones I have mentioned are the most significant in my life.  Anyone who has entered my life and stuck around, I thank you endlessly and I could not ever repay you enough. I am going to tag Katie, Lauren and Ronnie to join in if they would like too!

Much love

  1. This is such a lovely tag! I think writing down, or even thinking about, all of the things you are thankful for is such an amazing thing to do - it really shows how much of an impact people and animals have on you!

    1. Thank you lovely! It is such a good thing to do, especially if you have a down day it is a good way to look at all the good in your life!

  2. Ah this is such a lovely post and it's always worth looking at things in a positive manner and to be thankful for everything - there's so much sadness out there and we all have to be grateful for what we have instead of just focusing on what we don't! :)
