The gym class I won't be giving up.

If it doesn't challenge you, it doesn't change you.

Exercise has always been a part of my life, mainly in the form of dance so you could say I've always been reasonably fit. The thing with exercise is as soon as you stop doing it or stop doing it to the same level you do notice a difference in all aspects of your life. This is exactly what happened with me, I stopped dancing all day every day and suddenly I didn't know what to do and motivating yourself to go to the gym isn't always the easiest thing to be doing either. It is so important though; exercise is so important. It can not only help with your ability to sleep and your overall general mood but it can help with so many mental health issues like depression, anxiety, ADHD and so many more. The thing is it doesn't even have to be intense, it can be walking around your local area or even on a treadmill or lifting light weights. If you wanted to go to classes then there are yoga, pilates, zumba, there are so many options! I love nothing more than finding a new gym class to test out. It is also a great opportunity to put your phone down and just focus on you because lets be real, what other times do we complete cut ourselves off from social media and the internet.

Every day is another chance to get stronger, to eat better, to live healthier and to be the best version of you.

For me, for a long time I had no motivation at all to go to the gym or do anything but once I did motivate myself to go once with my dad I did notice the positive affects it started to have on me. Yes I do go to the gym with my dad. I have tried a variety of gym classes from body combat, spinning, body attack, circuits, zumba, the lot! Surprisingly the one class I don't think I could ever give up is spinning, now some of you might be thinking that out of all of them, that would be the most boring? It actually isn't, I find it the most intense and the one that fits my life the best. That might not make sense because how can a gym class fit your life any different to any others? Well sometimes you might not want to be too sociable, have to interact with others or just really focus that much. With spinning, you take yourself into your own world and just focus on you. You just sit on a bike and peddle for that whole time, the most confusing or difficult it gets is the change of if you are standing up or sitting down and you also burn A LOT of calories too!

Take care of your body. It's the only place you have to live in.

I genuinely believe that there is a way to incorporate fitness into everybody's life and that there is a gym class out there for all of us. Once you find yours there is no stopping you, you will feel and notice a difference instantly.

Let me know what type of fitness you do and what classes you recommend?
Or if you are a spinning lover like me?!

Much love

  1. My mum used to love spin class and something called "body pump" too which I think was like Zumba with weights! I've never actually been to a class as I get worried I won't be able to keep up but I would love to brave one soon when I'm healthy enough to as there's so many I'd love to try out :)

    1. omg I've done body pump its tough, haha! honestly, I find that classes help to motivate you and they end up pushing you more than you normally would work but there are always alternatives so you can do it to your speed and stuff, they are so good!! Yes girl, just look after yourself first xx

  2. I've only done two spinning classes in my life and they were SO HARD! I could hardly walk the next day - never again!

    1. haha they are tough, I've had many times where I struggle to walk the next day so you are not alone!

  3. I've never done a spin class before, I've always been too scared to do them as I hate exercise bikes! I've been loving doing circuit training classes at my gym, they're so fun and everyone struggles at all abilities so I don't feel like there are eyes on me! x

    1. I used to hate exercise bikes to but they make it interesting for you! I love circuits they are so so good for you too!! x

  4. I've heard so many good things about spin classes! I like lifting weights for the same reason - it's the time i get to focus with myself. I've also done a lot of yoga classes (including hot yoga, which I loved!). I love working on my flexibility. And when it gets warm out I like to do group sports - nothing competitive though, because I'm no good at them!
